Life on the farm is usually filled with sunshine and clover, but today, a heavy cloud hangs over the valley. This is the story of a spirited yellow duckling, his foster mother (a kind-hearted black-and-white duck), and his best friend in the world: a gentle calf named Clover . Part 1: The Heavy Walk The day began with a somber march. A young farmhand, her face etched with a sadness she couldn't hide, led Clover away from the familiar comfort of the barn. Clover’s head hung low, her large brown eyes reflecting the confusion of leaving the only home she’d ever known. Part 2: The Resistance As they reached the dirt path, Clover realized where they were headed: the old white pickup truck. Sensing a permanent goodbye, the calf dug her hooves into the soft earth, resisting with every ounce of her strength. The farmhand pulled at the lead, her own heart breaking as she forced the inevitable. Part 3: The Departure The struggle was short-lived. Clover was guided into the back of the truck. As the farmhand climbed into the driver’s seat, she looked back one last time, wishing there was another way. Clover stood alone in the truck bed, the coiled rope a reminder of the freedom she was losing. Part 4: The Engine Starts The roar of the engine signaled the end of their playtime. As the truck began to roll forward, Clover peered over the side, her heart sinking. The hills she once ran through began to shrink in the distance. Part 5: The Discovery Back on the path, duckling and mother duck watched in horror. Mother Duck, who had raised the duckling as her own, felt a crushing weight in her chest. She knew what that truck meant. the duckling, however, wasn't ready to say goodbye. He let out a chirping cry, his tiny heart racing. Part 6: The Shock “Gasp!” the duckling squeaked as the truck picked up speed, kicking up dust. The realization hit him—his best friend was being taken away. Mother duck tried to keep up, her eyes filling with tears, but her wings felt heavy with the grief of losing the foster family she had nurtured. Part 7: A Friend’s Tears High in the truck bed, the calf could no longer hold back. Tears welled in her eyes and rolled down her velvet muzzle. She looked back at the receding farm, searching for the small yellow puffball that always made her chores feel like games. Part 8: The Chase Begins The duckling wouldn't give up. With a burst of speed his tiny legs shouldn't have been capable of, he sprinted through the clovers. "Wait for me!" he seemed to peep, his eyes fixed on the silver bumper of the truck. Part 9: The Leap of Faith In a moment of pure bravery, the little duckling took flight. It wasn't a graceful glide, but a desperate, flapping hop. He launched himself from the dusty road, aiming for the tailgate. He wasn't just a duckling; he was a friend on a mission. Part 10: Left Behind Watching from the road, Mother Duck’s heart shattered. She ran as fast as her webbed feet would carry her, tears streaming down her face. She was losing them both—her foster son and the calf. The sunset glowed behind her, a beautiful irony to the saddest day of her life.
