What BudgetPixel is, signing up, and the free plan.
- What is BudgetPixel?BudgetPixel is an AI creative platform that puts the leading image, video, music, speech and sound-effect models behind one account and one credit balance. You can start on the free plan, buy pay-as-you-go credits, or subscribe for a monthly allowance.
- Is BudgetPixel free?Yes. The free plan gives you 300 credits every month at no cost, and you don’t need a credit card to sign up. Some premium models, BudgetPixel Studio, the developer API and commercial use need a paid plan.
- How do I create a BudgetPixel account?Click Start free or Sign in and continue with your Google or Discord account. There’s no separate password to set up and no credit card required; new accounts start on the free plan.
- How can I earn free credits?Beyond your monthly allowance, you can earn extra credits from daily check-ins, daily challenges, voting in the Model Arena, referring friends who subscribe, and BudgetPixel’s creator programs. Most earned credits expire two months after they’re granted.
- Is there a BudgetPixel mobile app?There’s no native iOS or Android app. The BudgetPixel website works on phones and tablets, and you can add it to your home screen from your browser to use it like an app, with notifications.
- How do I contact BudgetPixel support?Email support@budgetpixel.com or ask on the BudgetPixel Discord, which is usually the fastest way to get help. The team typically replies within 1–2 business days.
Plans & billing
Prices, billing dates, changing plans, payments and invoices.
- How much does BudgetPixel cost?BudgetPixel has a free plan with 300 credits a month, pay-as-you-go credit packs, and paid plans billed monthly or annually. Annual billing costs less per month.
- What do paid plans include beyond more credits?Paid plans add the developer API and MCP connector, paid-plan models, commercial use rights (full rights from Premium), more generations running at once and more storage. Higher tiers add BudgetPixel Studio, voice cloning, credit-pack bonuses, model discounts and free daily generations.
- When am I charged, and when do my credits reset?Monthly plans are charged when you subscribe and then on the same date each month, and your monthly credits reset when that renewal payment goes through, not on the 1st of the month. Annual plans are charged once a year, and their credits still refresh every month on your subscription date.
- How do upgrades and downgrades work?Upgrades start immediately: you pay the new plan’s full price and get its full monthly credits right away. Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your billing period, so you keep your current plan and credits until then and aren’t charged now.
- Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?Not on your current plan. You can pick monthly or annual billing when you move up to a higher plan, or cancel and subscribe again with the billing you want once your current period ends.
- Which payment methods can I use?Payments are processed by Stripe. At checkout you can pay by card or with the other payment methods Stripe offers in your country. Credit packs can also be paid in USDC, a dollar-backed stablecoin.
- How do I update my card or get an invoice?Open your profile and use Update payment method or Invoices & billing details on the Billing card. Both open Stripe’s secure billing portal.
- What happens if my payment fails?Your plan is marked past due, and you’ll see a banner and get an email with a link to update your card. You can keep using the credits you have left, but new monthly credits and some paid-plan features pause until the payment goes through. If it’s still unpaid after 3 days, your account moves to the free plan until it is.
Credits
How credits work, what things cost, packs and expiry.
- How do credits work?Credits are the single currency for everything you generate. Your plan gives you a monthly allowance, and you can add extra credits from credit packs and rewards. Monthly credits are used first, then extra credits, soonest-expiring first.
- How many credits does an image or video cost?It depends on the model and settings. An image typically costs from tens to a few hundred credits. Most video models are priced per second of output, so a short clip costs from about a hundred to a few thousand credits. The workshops show the exact cost on the Generate button before you run anything.
- Do unused credits roll over or expire?Monthly plan credits don’t roll over: each month’s allowance replaces the last. Credits from credit packs last 12 months from purchase, and earned credits from rewards and referrals last 2 months.
- How do credit packs work?Credit packs are one-time purchases of extra credits, available to every account, including free ones. Pack credits last 12 months and are used after your monthly allowance runs out.
- Am I charged for failed or blocked generations?No. Credits are charged only when a generation succeeds. If a generation fails, times out, or is blocked before it starts, you pay nothing and the credits held for it are released.
- How does the referral program work?Share your referral link. When someone signs up through it and starts their first paid plan, you both get bonus credits worth 30% of that plan’s monthly credits. Referral credits last 2 months.
- What are free daily generations?Some plans and promotions include free generations each day on selected models. Pro includes 100 and Ultra 300 free image generations a day on a set of fast models, including Qwen Image, Z-Image Turbo, P-Image and FLUX.2 Klein.
Cancellation & refunds
Cancelling, resuming, what you keep, and refunds.
- How do I cancel my subscription?Go to the Plans page, click Cancel Plan on your current plan and confirm. Your plan and credits stay active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, you won’t be charged again, and you can resume anytime before then.
- Can I undo a cancellation?Yes, until your billing period ends. On the Plans page, click Resume my plan in the banner or Resume on your plan card. Your subscription continues as before and you aren’t charged anything extra.
- What happens to my credits and creations when I cancel?Until your billing period ends, nothing changes. After that your account moves to the free plan: your remaining monthly plan credits end, credits you bought or earned stay until they expire, and your creations stay in your account under the free plan’s storage limit.
- Can I get a refund?No. Under the Terms of Service all sales are final: BudgetPixel doesn’t refund subscription fees, credit purchases or used credits, except where the law requires it. You can cancel anytime to stop future charges, and failed generations are never charged.
Ownership, licensing & privacy
Who owns what you make, commercial use, privacy and your data.
- Who owns what I create on BudgetPixel?Under the Terms of Service, you’re granted a licence to use the images you create, on your plan’s terms. For BudgetPixel Studio projects and for output from the developer API and MCP connector, BudgetPixel claims no ownership and assigns you any rights it holds. Posts you share stay yours.
- Can I use what I create commercially?It depends on your plan. Under the Terms of Service, the free plan is for personal, non-commercial use only; Basic allows personal use and limited commercial use; Premium and higher plans include full commercial usage rights, including commercial products and services.
- How do licences on my posts work?Every post is All Rights Reserved by default. You can instead choose CC BY 4.0, which lets others reuse it (even commercially) if they credit you, or CC0, which lets anyone use it without conditions. You keep the copyright either way, and the licence can’t be changed after posting.
- Can I use BudgetPixel’s free images, sound effects and music?Yes, including commercially. The free image library, sound effects and background music are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): credit BudgetPixel AI, link to the item’s page where you reasonably can, and name the licence.
- Are my generations private?Yes. Everything you create is private to your account on every plan, including the free plan, until you publish it as a post. Posts are public: anyone can see them, including people who aren’t signed in and search engines.
- Does BudgetPixel use my content to train AI?BudgetPixel may use anonymized prompts and generated images to improve its AI models and service, as its Terms of Service describe, and you can object by contacting support. Content sent through the developer API or MCP connector isn’t used to train BudgetPixel’s models.
- How do I delete my account?Open your profile, go to the Overview tab and click Delete Account in the Danger Zone, then confirm by typing your email. Cancel any paid plan first. Deletion is permanent and can’t be undone.
API, MCP & integrations
The developer API, AI-assistant connectors and plugins.
- Does BudgetPixel have an API?Yes. The BudgetPixel developer API gives programmatic access to image, video, music and sound-effect models, billed per use in the same credits as the web app. It’s included with every paid plan.
- Can I use BudgetPixel inside Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?Yes. Add the BudgetPixel MCP connector (https://mcp.budgetpixel.com/mcp) to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any app that supports remote MCP servers, then sign in with your BudgetPixel account. You can generate images, video, music and sound effects from the chat using your plan’s credits; generating needs a paid plan.
- Which plugins and integrations are available?BudgetPixel works in WordPress, ComfyUI and Cursor, in AI assistants through the MCP connector, and in your own apps through the developer API. Plugins sign in with your BudgetPixel account or use an API key from a paid plan.
Creating
Models, content rules, failed generations and downloads.
- Which AI models can I use?BudgetPixel offers more than 100 image and video models, plus music, speech and sound-effect models, from makers including OpenAI, Google, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba, xAI, Black Forest Labs and MiniMax. New models are added as they’re released.
- What content isn’t allowed?BudgetPixel’s Terms of Service prohibit sexual or suggestive content involving minors, content depicting real people without their explicit consent, content depicting illegal acts against real people (such as sexual violence, incest or non-consensual acts), content that promotes hatred, discrimination or violence, and content that infringes others’ intellectual property. Many prohibited requests are blocked before generation, and blocked requests aren’t charged.
- Why did my generation fail, and what should I do?Generations fail when a model’s safety filter refuses the input, when an input can’t be used, or when the model errors or times out. You’re never charged for a failed generation, so you can try again, changing the prompt or inputs if the message suggests it.
- Do downloads have a watermark, and what formats are they?Images download in the format the model produced (PNG, JPEG or WebP), videos as MP4 with an optional GIF export, and audio as MP3 or WAV. BudgetPixel doesn’t add a watermark on any plan.
