Clover and the Courageous Peep Bonus Story

While I work on the next chapter, here’s a bonus mini-story featuring the two of them to tide you over! A Muddy Little Adventure 1. Splashing into the Rain It started as a gentle afternoon shower on the farm. While the other animals stayed inside, a cheerful little brown calf and a fluffy yellow duckling decided the rain was much too fun to miss. They bolted out of the barn together, ready to see what the stormy day had in store. 2. The Perfect Puddle It didn't take long for them to find exactly what they were looking for: mud! The duckling flapped its wings with joy, sending a great splash of muddy water into the air, while the calf happily stomped alongside, both of them covered in spots of dirt and wearing matching grins. 3. A Sudden Scare Suddenly, the sky grew dark and a brilliant flash of lightning tore through the clouds, striking a distant hill. The booming thunder that followed startled the little duckling. Seeking safety, it quickly scampered right underneath the calf, who stood brave and tall to shield its tiny friend. 4. Racing the Storm Realizing the storm was getting a bit too wild, the calf turned toward home. With another flash of lightning lighting up the sky, the two friends kicked up their heels and raced across the muddy fields, eager to get back to the safety of the farm. 5. Bursting Back Inside They dashed through the barn doors, hooves and webbed feet splashing through the indoor puddles. Under the warm glow of the overhead lights, they kept up their fast pace, thrilled to have made it back out of the pouring rain. 6. Safe and Sound Safely inside their cozy stall, the adrenaline began to fade. The calf stood shivering slightly from the cold rain, looking over at its feathered companion. They were safe from the storm, but the floor was still wonderfully muddy. 7. One Last Splash Before settling down, the calf couldn't resist one final, joyful stomp in the indoor mud, sending a spray of muck into the air. The duckling chirped and quacked happily, celebrating the end of their great outdoor trek. 8. Cozy Dreams With the lantern casting a warm, golden glow over the straw, the excitement of the day finally caught up to them. Exhausted and content, the duckling curled up tightly against the calf’s soft belly, and both drifted off to sleep, safe from the storm outside. Extra Images of Them Two
