Using symbols in prompts: 14 model comparison

I was debating whether or not to do this one because symbols function differently than emojis in prompts. Symbols often show up as actual pictures in an image so I like to use the Egyptian hieroglyphics symbols. In the images below, notice how in many models 𓂀𓋹𓁈𓃠𓆃☥𓅓𓆣 shows up embedded on urns, pillars and walls.

You will also notice that the resulting images, while definitely Egyptian in vibe, is all over the place in style. Daily prompt 1 and Daily prompt 2 felt a bit more consistent in style.

Daily Prompt #3 :

🎨⚫😺🟢👁️⚪👗👡😺 walking past 🐪🔺🏜️ 𓁈⚱️ 𓋹 𓁈 𓃣 🏺𓂀𓂀𓂀𓋹𓁈𓃠𓆃☥𓅓𓆣 . no tail

This prompt mixed things up. Emojis, text & symbols! GPT2 handled it with honors. The others varied a lot.

GPT2 Low / SeeDream 4.5 / Flux 2 Pro / Minimax / ImagineArt 1.5 / Recraft v4 / Wan 2.6 / NanoBanana2 Lite / Ideogram v4 / Qwen 3 / Krea2 Medium / Kling v3 / SeeDream 5 Pro / Wan 2.7 / Grok / P-Image

GPT2 Low

In this one, GPT2 Low went one better and didn't just embed the symbols as heiroglyphs on the pillar, wall, and urns but also gave a cool border. What do you think of it?

SeeDream 4.5

SeeDream put the symbols as hieroglyphs on the pyramid, urns, camel's blanket and as direct writing on the image.

Flux 2 Pro

The only pyramid emoji I could find is a red pyramid. I don't like that because some models are very literal when it comes to emoji. Then you end up with a red pyramid which makes no sense at all. I like all the urns and statues tho.

Minimax

For 10 credits, I thought Minimax was pretty good. Better than some that were triple the credits

Illustration: Minimax

ImagineArt 1.5

The symbols are only hinted at here on the table fragments in the sand

Recraft v4

Recraft likes to do it's own thing. This time I got a claymation cat which I found fun but no symbols at all. I love that they added a Sphynx so in that way 𓄂𓆃 did act like an emoji.

Wan 2.6

NanoBanana2 Lite

Notice the symbols are littered randomly in the sand. Again the red pyramid

Ideogram v 4

I thought this one was fun. The cat looks like it escaped mummification. Y ay! Heiroglyphs are on the wall.

Qwen 3

Krea 2 Medium

Notice who the symbols are just written across as well as on the pillar. I've found that happens with symbols. They just get reproduced more or less as "writing" across the image.

Kling v3

SeeDream 5 Pro

Wan 2.7

I almost always like Wan 2.6 better than 2.7. I know it's an upgrade but sometimes it doesn't feel like it

Illustration: Wan 2.7

Grok

Yeah, Grok is a bit of a mess. The woman has a cat tail and the pyramids are tiny. At least the came is good

Illustration: Grok

Grok was pretty bad so I thought I'd try again and see if it did better

P-image

I thought I'd try P-image as it's only 10 credits but .... I like it but doesn't really have the Egyptian ancient pyramid vibe at all

I wish I did but not really. For the first 1,000 I might break even. There's always pics that don't turn out and often I do a few more models when I do the blog to have a wider variety of models. It's mostly to bring down my storage amount because I can delete the images and still keep the prompts. If it makes it to 500, which some don't, then that would be profit if you discount the time it took to make all the images. If there wasn't blogging, I'd make a lot less images. It's the blogging that encourages me to compare because then I can put the results some place together and see how they look.

Since you asked, I thought I'd see. It try Qwen 3 once in a while. I like the ink art style it made but the content needs more something. I also like SeeDream Pro but not this time. It can be a bit hit or miss with emojis

Awesome, I like emoji for NC Flux & Flux schnell. But you're GPT2 & Seedream are really good, I might give it go :) :) :)

Always a fun set of images. Great way to farm the 1000 credits. I figure you make a small profit 😀

  • @EternaSky·

I wonder how Sd5Pro and qwen3 would take to it
