//The Dresden Files: "Idea of Her" [#32/52]. [TLDR: Fallen Angel redemption arc] In the climax of White Night, Lash [a Fallen possessing Harry] sacrifices her existence to shield Harry Dresden from a devastating psychic assault by a villain possessed by an Outsider. Refusing to yield to the Fallen Angel Lasciel, Harry instead asks Lash for help, prompting her to exercise true free will and fully defect from her dark origins. By absorbing the brunt of the crushing mental devastation into the part of Harry's mind where her own consciousness resided, Lash is completely erased, granting him the crucial window needed to survive.

About this image

This high contrast black and white cinematic artwork depicts a disheveled exhausted man staring up at a liquid-textured supernatural female apparition hovering close to his face. Set in a crumbling gothic hall, dramatic slanted window light, lens flare, and floating embers surround the glowing figure. The mood is tense and haunting, rendered in a gritty graphic noir style with stark light and shadow.
