Impasto painterly portrait of a sleeping young nun

About this image

This moody, baroque-inspired fine art painting features a serene reclining young nun, her long wavy blonde hair spread loosely around her face, a simple metal cross resting against her black religious habit. The rich textured impasto brushwork uses a dramatic muted palette of deep charcoal, cream, teal, and rust orange splatters, creating an ethereal, quiet devotional atmosphere. The subject's soft, resting expression and relaxed pose contrast beautifully with the rough abstracted background, making for a striking religious portrait.
