Calista had never felt this way about another person before in her life. The sudden realization made her feel intensely shy. She wasn’t sure what was expected of her, nor whether she would measure up to those unwritten expectations. She stood there motionless and quiet by the dresser after putting on her nightgown, her fingers trembling slightly, completely unsure of what to do next. Kate for her part immediately recognized the awkwardness Calista was feeling and was especially patient and gentle with her. “Easy there, babydoll,” Kate said to her softly from the spot where she was sitting on the edge of the bed. “I promise I won't bite, sugah.” Calista chewed nervously on her lower lip, her green eyes dropping as she absently traced circles on the hardwood floor with her toe, “I know that Kate, it’s just… it’s just that I–” “You’ve never felt this way about someone before and you don’t know what to do with yourself?” Calista looked up sharply, her expression slightly frightened, before she bobbed her head up and down in agreement with that assessment. “Well sugah, you don’t have to do anything at all but come and get in the bed if that’s all you want to do. There aren’t any expectations or rules here that you have to worry about.”
