About this image

This vibrant steampunk fantasy artwork blends traditional Edo-period Japanese architecture and Japanese youkai folklore with industrial Victorian steam train design, creating a richly detailed, immersive train station scene. The ornate purple and brass Guenbu Line locomotive, marked with Japanese kanji and bound for Yūgen, is stationed at a lantern-lit platform crowded with anthropomorphic mythical youkai in traditional kimonos and travel gear, building a whimsical, adventurous mood. Warm glowing lantern light and deep gold and purple accent colors pop against the wet, reflective station platform, amplifying the bustling, magical atmosphere of this unique East Asian fantasy world.

I was close tho. I was #12 which is actually pretty good for me. Thank you so much for your comment. I'm trying to make a 10-second video from it now. If it's any good I'll post it.

Really liked how you gave your spin to the steampunk theme, too bad it didn't even got between the top 10 :(

  • @legion ·

Very cool and colorful, are they yokai or just humanoid animals?

  • @CaylaCatz ·

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

  • @CaylaCatz ·

In Japan, humanoid animals are yokai, I think.

  • @panos ·

    Magnificent! I don't think I saw it.

  • @legion ·

I thought they were ghosts or spirits and cryptids like the kappa, so if Mickey Mouse were Japanese, would he be a yokai?

  • @panos ·

You're wellcome. If I had, the passengers would have been a sign about whose it is! 🙂
