2026-Oct-20 : First Post of the Day Rooster and his Chickens

Prompt

Mel Odom + Roy Lichtenstein + pencil and ink with pearlescent watercolour wash on matte paper, where Odom's fine graphite and ink contour hatching creates delicate shading that models form through line rather than tone, Lichtenstein's confident black outline and Ben-Day halftone dot fields produce flat graphic edges and mechanical tonal steps, and the pearlescent wash infuses soft iridescent tints over the drawn forms. The fusion manifests as visible linework, dot-screen shading, translucent pastel washes and matte paper tooth, transforming any subject through drawn contour. Rooster and his chickens

About this image

This bold graphic illustration features a large vibrantly plumed rooster standing guard over a small flock of black and white hens on a sunlit patch of farm ground. The artwork uses bold ink linework and saturated vivid colors, including bright yellow tail feathers, a bright red comb, and a crisp solid turquoise background for a retro comic book aesthetic. The tone is playful and whimsical, celebrating charming barnyard wildlife.
