I was inspired to try to recreate @dezie fantastic creation - https://budgetpixel.com/p/87971 . It took forever to get even a little close. First pass came back flat and cel shaded, with her standing at a balustrade in a wide shot instead of sitting low on the ledge with the gargoyle stacked beside her. The biggest jump came from rewriting the style line as blended airbrushed gradients under thin dark contours, warm lit windows glowing against smoky violet shadow, which is what gave it painted weight instead of comic flatness. After that it was pose wording, moving strictly back view, head turned sharply over the shoulder above the costume list, and the heavy-lidded eyes and sharp lace detail finally held.
