**Her shadow dreamed of dancing a passionate tango** --- Living Shadow - 3/45, 1590 ELO, 114 matchups, 66W 44L --- I think the second time I have achieved top 3. Naturally suprirsed and delighted. I think the submissions I saw reflected a wider range of ideas, more creativity without the detailed description and sample image. What do you think? --- 1- Submission 2- I liked it but thought the shadow had too much colour and detail in it for a shadow.

@Sealine oh, I think I got that portrait one too. Made no sense. Luckily the rival image held a sword so they got my vote. This one has been weird for me. I started off losing a lot, then I won a lot so it evened out and now I'm back to losing. I want to flip that pardigm -- win a lot, lose a little, win a lot and finishing ok. laughing. And I missed an opportunity. I didn't hink of the Scottish sword dance with the kilts and pretty plaid until after submissions were closed. Oh well.

I vote early and maybe I shouldn't. I get a lot of repeats. And a lot of bad repeats. Last night I kept getting a portrait, a guy with three arms, and other things I couldn't vote for. Makes me wonder how I'm mid 1400s this current challenge.

Saw your otehr reply about the Irish confusion to Cayla. I also saw that other image, and assume you googled based on my caption that made reference to the original name of the dance. Also it is fair to say that Scottish, Irish, Welsh and parts of English have celtic roots, so kilts are sometimes worn in Ireland as well, though maybe different material, often in pipebands

Certainly the time will have an influence as the algorihm matches to try and sure similar number of votes for each image. Doesn't explain why you get duplicates when voting really early. I asked about that but got no answer. More chat today about the judging mechanism in the DC server

I have not seen as many repeats for quite some time. I think that could be influenced by when you vote and how things have proceeded. The algorithm is weighted to try and ensure all images receive the same number of votes.

I didn't know there was a Scottish sword dance so I was left wondering why the Irish dancers were on rooftops wearing Scottish kilts and plaid while holding a sword. The second one I came across had a caption, so I googled it.

@Sealine I read mystery novels so it came up when there was a murder at a Scottish sword dance competition. Before that I don't think I knew about them either
