  The title let me know he was the captain. Usually when I see someone in that kind of gear, I think mechanic. It's ok for a title to do some lifting if you do something unexpected. Lots of captains who own small boats, planes, etc do their own repairs. It's just most people minds default to the big ships, planes where there is a crew with seperated jobs
