“I must say Kate, It’s become quite a bit easier to enjoy a pint in peace with you by my side.” Kate laughed, her eyes flashing in the dim light. “You just have to learn how to create that aura for your own self, sugah.” “What aura is that, exactly?” Calista asked, taking another slow sip of her dark Scottish ale. “It’s that don’t-fuck-with-me aura, darlin',” Kate replied, a wicked, confident smirk lighting up her features. Calista almost snorted the dark ale straight out of her nose trying to suppress a sudden burst of laughter. She desperately wanted to maintain a stern look as she responded, her voice mock-haughty. “Why, Kate! I’m completely scandalized by such language!”But she only managed to make it about halfway through the sentence before her composure shattered completely, as she developed a case of the giggles. Kate laughed again alongside her. “I know, I know, proper ladies aren’t ever supposed to utter the word fuck,” Kate grinned, her eyes locked onto Calista's features. “Well...maybe I don’t always want to be a proper lady. Maybe some days I just want to be a woman.” Calista raised her glass in salute to that statement saying, “Well here’s to just being a woman, Kate!” Kate clinked her glass firmly against hers before taking a long drink of her pint.
