I found this to be very interesting about Ai & You might too
By Tara Firman
This is why I put my signature somewhere on my Ai digital images, since we can't add a watermark and you might want to too. The most expensive AI-generated artwork sold to date is "AI God: Portrait of Alan Turing" by the humanoid robot Ai-Da, which fetched $1,084,800 at Sotheby's in November 2024, significantly exceeding its $120,000–$180,000 estimate. This sale marks the first time a painting by a humanoid robot has been sold at auction, establishing a new benchmark for robot-created art. Other notable high-value AI art sales include: "Portrait of Edmond de Belamy" by the collective Obvious, which sold for $432,500 at Christie's in October 2018, the first AI artwork to break the half-million dollar mark. Refik Anadol's "Machine Hallucinations—Space: Metaverse" collection, which achieved a record $5 million at Sotheby's Hong Kong. Botto, a decentralized autonomous artist, has amassed over $5 million in total sales since 2021, with a recent Sotheby's exhibition generating $350,000. "Sophia Instantiation", a collaboration between artist Andrea Bonaceto and Sophia the Robot, sold as an NFT for $688,888. While some AI art pieces have commanded millions, the market also includes works valued significantly lower, such as Mario Klingemann's "Memories of Passersby I", which sold for approximately $51,000 at Sotheby's in 2019. The valuation of AI art often depends on the artist's reputation, the novelty of the technology, and the specific auction house, with recent sales indicating a growing acceptance of AI-generated pieces in the global art market.
