Chekov (Walter Koenig) passed today at age 90. Gosh, I remember how young he looked on Star Trek. Do you remember when he insisted that the Cheshire Cat story from Lewis Carroll was actually an old Russian story about a disappearing cat. (Who Mourns for Adonis? Season 2) The first Star Trek will always remain closest to my heart. Raising a scotch whiskey and a wodka to toast their memories Walter Koenig (Pavel Chekov) – Died October 26, 2026 (age 90) Nichelle Nichols (Nyota Uhura) – Died July 30, 2022 (age 89) Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock) – Died February 27, 2015 (age 83) Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Janice Rand) – Died May 1, 2015 (age 85) Majel Barrett (Nurse Chapel / Computer voice) – Died December 18, 2008 (age 76) James Doohan (Montgomery "Scotty" Scott) – Died July 20, 2005 (age 85) DeForest Kelley (Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy) – Died June 11, 1999 (age 79)

About this image
This warm retro-futuristic scene depicts classic Star Trek TOS characters relaxing with cocktails inside a luxury starship observation lounge. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame a swirling purple and blue deep space nebula with the iconic USS Enterprise NCC-1701 floating among distant stars and planets. The mood is joyful and casual, with golden midcentury decor, formal vintage 1960s attire, and glowing warm ambient lighting.

It was fun how Star Trek would be so deadpan about delivering it's humor in a serious tone but it'd make you laugh like Chekhov and Russia being responsible for all inventions, and literature. And Spock and McCoy like when McCoy was so delighted in finding out about Spock's teddy bear and it turns out it was alive and more bearish than teddy, lol
thank you. He was a fun character on Star Trek, wasn't he? I'm a bit disappointed the AI put Uhuru and Chekov in the back. @panos did a nice Chekov tribute so I decided not to do another one. Well, I like STar Trek, so I might do more STar Trek while the Favorite TV shows Theme is up. https://budgetpixel.com/p/99779

I would say Mr. Chekov was my favorite, but no... I have ALL the original crew forever in my heart! They will always journey to the final frontier now (Concerning that line of Chekov's about Chesire, I remember another one: 'The Garden of Eden was just outside of Kiev!'
I'm wrong. Google says there is no Kiev sentence. Leningrad and Moscow but no Kiev. Now I want to watch some episodes because I do remember a one-syllable russian city being named but I guess I'm wrong. Maybe I am thinking of Minsk and the Cheshire cat
thank you. Although I'm a bit disappointed the AI put Uhuru and Chekov in the back. I saw that @panos did a nice Chekov image so I decided not to do another one. Well, I like STar Trek, so I might do another one. I haven't decided, lol. https://budgetpixel.com/p/99779
Or we should go hunting for Kiev! It didn't show up on a site that had a few of his Russian statements listed. But you know, he did say things about how great Russia was a lot
@panos ·
It is worth looking into. I image that there will be many lists with his lines now on this sad occassion. There already were. YouTube ibstantly got me a video when I asked for it
@panos ·
And here's another one.... *btw, SD 5 flash is a BITCH about this. No way does it let me do such image: mo Gollum, no Star wars, no Star Trek... what the hell?!
@panos ·
...You know what... since YOU also seem to remember about a ' Kiev' line, it just came ro my mind: perhaps we just discovered a bona fide case of 'Mandella Effect' here!!!!
SD, GPT and all of them have their little quirks. Luckily they don't all have the same quirk. If one won't play, I roll to the next one, lol
