**Gargoyle's Silent Vigil** --- Black & White - 3/52, 64.2%, 77W 43L --- I really enjoyed this challenge, and ending up 3rd (my 3rd top 3 in the 102 challenges I have entered) an added bonus. I enjoyed the opportunity to be creative in both subject and medium as well as the variety of different images I saw when voting and the mix in the top 20. I consider myself lucky to have placed top 3 as objectively I could have picked several, more than 3, others from the top 20 and replaced all 3 of the top 3, that I think would be equally deserving. I think it confirms once and for all that no sample image and a more general theme leads to a interesting set of entries.

About this image
This moody monochrome image features a heavily cracked, aged stone gargoyle perched high on the carved stone corner of a gothic cathedral, distant spires rising through wispy fog in the background. The low angle shot emphasizes the creature's imposing, stern guardian presence, with patches of moss and weathered stone adding texture and historic gothic atmosphere. The muted grayscale palette and soft overcast sky lend the scene a dark, atmospheric medieval fantasy feel.

tvm. I do love that you never thought it was mine
That's right. I didn't participate in this one, but in the last two I was in the top 10, and before that I almost came in last, haha. I've been saying it for a long time, it's a game and you have to accept the rules. Enjoy this third place, my friend.
Congratulations, my friend! Everything comes in time! And you've reached third place, and it's very well deserved. Congratulations again, and I voted for you!
Congrats on the podium win, David. Simple yet convey the black and white contrast well - well deserved.
