3D yokai monsters emerging from a traditional Japanese Hyakki Yagyo scroll in a modern art gallery
This surreal conceptual artwork shows iconic Japanese supernatural yokai appearing to climb out of a detailed ukiyo-e style Hyakki Yagyo scroll displayed in a dim gallery space. The piece blends flat illustrative scroll art with hyperrealistic 3D rendered creatures including a gashadokuro skeleton, one-eyed obake, and horned oni, with a muted eerie palette of warm browns, dark blacks, and muted gold tones. The uncanny, spooky mood leans into classic Japanese folk horror, accented by hanging yokai face paper lanterns.
