If the clue is in the title, maybe 'A Blessing in Disguise'? If her heel hadn't snapped she could have been hit by the falling debris.

One last go. 'Down at heel'. That would fit the stone flower trough falling down through neglect, and tie-in with the broken heel. But if it's not that I'm truly out of ideas.
