House of the Dragon official key art featuring core Targaryen cast

About this image

This dramatic official promotional poster for HBO's House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel series, showcases the core cast of Targaryen and Velaryon characters posed against a stormy, atmospheric Westeros landscape dotted with flying dragons, ancient castles, and the shadow of the Iron Throne. The moody, dark color palette of stormy grays, rich emerald green, gilded royal detailing, and iconic platinum Targaryen hair emphasizes the tense, high-stakes tone of the fantasy drama centered on the Targaryen succession civil war.

This atmospheric dark fantasy composite collage showcases multiple scenes of Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Targaryen heir from House of the Dragon, highlighting the range of her emotional arc from quiet doubt to royal resolve and joy. The cinematic artwork includes background details of her dragon Syrax, the storm-lashed coastal Dragonstone castle, misty skies, and candlelit Red Keep interiors, with a moody, muted color palette of deep blacks, soft warm golds, and cool storm grays. This tribute art captures the beloved Game of Thrones franchise character's complicated journey to claim the Iron Throne.
