Taoist spirit guide leads a procession of hopping jiangshi along…

About this image

This atmospheric dark fantasy horror illustration depicts a traditional Chinese underworld scene, centered on a robed Taoist guide holding a glowing soul lantern and inscribed staff leading a long procession of hopping jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampires) along a rain-slicked, fog-shrouded spirit road. The eerie, somber scene is bathed in cool full moon light, with warm glows from offering candles and lanterns contrasting against crumbling ancient Chinese architecture, gnarled dead trees, and inscribed wooden spirit banners marking the boundary between the mortal realm and the afterlife. The hyper-detailed artwork leans into classic East Asian supernatural folklore, evoking a spooky, solemn tone for the journey of the dead.
