Prompt: Utagawa Hiroshige + Katsushika Hokusai + multi-block woodblock printing, where Hiroshige's bokashi technique creates atmospheric tonal gradations through selective ink wiping on the block, and Hokusai's keyblock method produces crisp contour lines via carved outlines. The printing process infuses flat unmodulated colour fields held in exact registration. The fusion manifests as bold outlines enclosing areas of solid colour with delicate sky and water gradients, transforming any subject through precise multi-layer printing. A crowd of Japanese vendors and customers at a bustling outdoor fish market, with people in traditional robes handling seafood on wooden stalls and carrying baskets. Wide shot at eye level, showing a long line of market stalls with figures standing, leaning, and interacting along the path, a boat on the water to the left, and overlapping groups extending into the distance. Scene set in a Japanese coastal harbor during daytime, with traditional buildings, a body of water filled with boats, and Mount Fuji visible across the bay.Made with Nano Banana 2 LiteUse this prompt

I wanted to chase a specific Hiroshige woodblock feel, where the sky and water wash out in soft gradients but the figures stay flat and outlined. Comparing the five runs, watch where each model lands on that line: some get the bokashi right and lose the crowd, others keep the robes crisp and turn Fuji into a smudge. The fish market stalls in the foreground are the best test. Models, in order: 1. seedream-5.0-pro 2. nano-banana-2-lite 3. gpt-image-2 4. grok-imagine-image-2 5. muse-image-1.0

About this image

This classic Edo period ukiyo-e woodblock print depicts a bustling historic Japanese waterfront fish market, where vendors display fresh caught seafood for customers along a busy coastal promenade. Snow-capped Mount Fuji rises in the distant background across a calm turquoise bay dotted with traditional wooden fishing boats, rendered in the iconic flat linework and warm vintage palette of indigo, soft pink, and cream characteristic of ukiyo-e art. Japanese calligraphy cartouches label the scene, capturing the lively, everyday energy of Edo era public trade and community life.

This historic Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print illustrates a lively Edo-period waterfront seafood market, packed with shoppers, vendors, and dock workers unloading fresh catch from wooden fishing boats on a calm blue coastal bay. The background features the iconic peak of Mount Fuji rising above the water dotted with sailboats, while rows of traditional thatch-roofed merchant storefronts line the crowded market street. Rendered in classic ukiyo-e flat color style with soft indigo, warm beige, and pale gradient sky hues, the artwork captures everyday public life in feudal Japanese coastal communities.

This stunning traditional Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print, rendered in the iconic Edo period style of master artist Utagawa Hiroshige, depicts a vibrant busy fish market along the Edo Tokyo Bay shore at soft dawn. Crowds of period shoppers in kimono gather at stalls heaped with fresh tuna, whole fish, and shellfish, while wooden fishing boats float on bright blue coastal waters and snow-capped Mount Fuji rises majestically in the distant horizon. The artwork uses a warm muted palette of indigo, soft cream, and natural wood tones, with traditional machiya shopfronts bearing Japanese calligraphy signage lining the packed market promenade.
