Baroque historical oil painting of armored Roman cavalry warriors… — AI art by @justrob

Entry in the Same Prompt - Different Models theme on BudgetPixel.
Same prompt, four models, and the differences show up fast once you look past the overall composition. The fight stays chaotic in every version, but the anatomy drifts a lot, especially where the men and animals are tangled together in the foreground. Watch how each one handles the transition between sculpted form and painterly stroke. I keep coming back to the contrast in the third one, the figures there feel carved out of the shadow instead of painted over it. Models, in order: 1. seedream-5.0-pro 2. nano-banana-2-lite 3. gpt-image-2 4. grok-imagine-image-2 Reference image: https://www.arthistoryproject.com/site/assets/files/13937/peter-paul-rubens-the-tiger-hunt-1616-trivium-art-history.1600x0.webp

AI Model: SeeDream 5.0 Pro
Prompt: Peter Paul Rubens + Michelangelo, where Rubens's vigorous alla prima brushwork creates swirling motion through fluid, directional strokes, and Michelangelo's sculptural modeling produces volumetric solids via emphatic light and shadow. The fusion manifests as twisting forms with clear anatomical structure, energetic edge transitions and high-contrast value blocks, transforming any subject through vigorous anatomical handling. A group of armed men on foot and horseback battling tigers, lions, and a leopard Wide shot at eye level, with multiple overlapping figures in violent combat poses, horses rearing, men and animals struggling across foreground and midground layers Scene set in an open coastal landscape during the day, with the sea visible in the background under a cloudy sky

i work AI - adjacent. So i dont do AI Art for work but i live in AI tools for my job. Flux 1.1 pro, though - i actually got into the (undocumented) internals - which tokenizer, etc. i could make that model dance. Most of my styles were originally done based on that model.

i dont actually know enough about how the various models work. I have a fair understanding of flux 1.1 pro, but have abandoned all hope of knowing anything about how other models work - too many and too much education is needed.

cool set of renaissance images. looks to me like the models had a harder time with this one. Maybe because there's so much details, little details went wrong like an extra string on a bow or weapons held wrong. And yet I've seen you do longer and more detailed prompts and they were handled without mistakes. I wonder why this was harder for the models

you're ahead of me. I don't know a thing. plus I think they are changing so fast, how does anyone keep up unless they work in the field with it everyday

If i notified you here, and you dont want me to do so - let me know and I will gladly remove you from my notify lists!

I can see why you love it so much since you did a deepdive into investigating it and getting to know it.

I think 3 & 4 are best attempts. SO much detail is tough for AI to keep all in order.

and thank you for taking the time to comment.
