It should be orange fire like normal with really black smoke. But I think there are a couple of series where they had it as green fire? So maybe the AI has that in it's db. Yes, I'd already seen it, and as I thought at the time, in a port with the ship moored it's easy, but on the open sea and underway they couldn't do it. To begin with, the simple ebb and flow of the waves would make it impossible to concentrate the beam on the same point, and even with calm seas, a simple sailor with a bucket of water could easily cool the area, eliminating or reducing the effect enough to move it and prevent it from burning. And I'm not even going to mention the distance or the fleet; they'd have enough mirrors for, I don't know... 50 ships? The story is nice, but I don't believe it. As Bruce Lee said, "Boards don't fight back." In other words, it's easy to do it with something that can't defend itself.

Very cool set. The green fire looks very spectral. The mirrors are great. You can't see the mirrors to the right that are set to catch the sun and angle the light to richochet down to these guys here. They had to have had two sets of mirrors. Otherwise they could only use them for defense for part of the day.

Yeah, that was the same thing they said. They actually tried it 2 years earlier and had a worse result. Then with this episode college students got involved. I bet the students wrote in because they thought they had a good idea that would work. I like tht show. They test fun things.

What I asked for was Greek fire, or did the AI understand green fire? Or was it perhaps Valyrian fire or something similar that appeared in Game of Thrones? And the mirrors, yes, I suppose they couldn't defend themselves for most of the day, or they would only be useful for a few hours a day and only if the ships came from the right direction. I think that part is more legend than history. You don't have to be Napoleon to think of attacking at night.
