I like the anachronism in the first one and none of the people onboard are jumping off a burning boat. It's like the Flying Dutchman showed up burning in a modern fire and on fire. It just needs the ruined sails from the Flying Dutchman. The people don't know it's a ghost ship so they called the fire brigade and sent men to rescue people who had been dead hundreds of years ago. It's a fail due to the anachronism but an interesting fial. In a ghost story, it would be a success. Of course, there are clipper ships in real harbors as tourist attractions but that's not as interesting a story. A ghost story when people don't recognize it's a ghost ship is cooler.
