Sapphic Poetry When You Look at Me Like That, When you look at me like that, the night stands still. The wind holds its breath, the moon leans in as if to listen to what we leave unspoken. Your scent reaches me even before your footsteps do, and envelops me like a warm secret that only my skin knows how to recognize. Your fingers brush the air mere centimeters from mine, and yet I feel the warmth, the promise, the sweet vertigo of what we could be if we were to draw closer still. Your voice, when it speaks my name, holds the color of amber and the taste of courage. It moves through me slowly, like a gentle flame that does not burn, but illuminates.
