"The alien abducted the bright winglings and imprisoned them in his glass chamber." I noticed that for the recent daily challenges, there were a handful of entries that had used the perspective of cute animals and children and were able to get into top 10. It was a little frustrating as I had steered away from such angles, after I had tried to submit daily challenges along these lines but they always ended up at the bottom of the rankings. So for this challenge I would try submitting a work based on animals and children again, avoiding the usual alien invading Earth angle. I imagined a small boy being the alien, invading the habitat of fireflies and capturing (abducting) them for his personal admiration. The results once again put me at the bottom of the rankings (66 out of 71). Though I must admit that for this challenge, I do see a lot of impressive and visually stunning works of Earth Invasion. I do think that I will also vote for them if I see my work up against theirs. While I thought I came up with a clever out-of-the-box concept, the competition and pool of strong, on-point entries are particularly strong for this theme, so I guess I deserve the low score/rank.
