Group of adventurers walking through a grand ancient city

About this image

A cinematic fantasy scene featuring three travelers—two women and a man—in period-accurate fantasy attire strolling through an ancient, colonnaded plaza. The city showcases turquoise-domed temples, grand statues, and towering mountains behind; golden-hour lighting adds a heroic, adventurous mood. This rich, painterly style blends classical architecture with fantasy character design, ideal for fans of epic quests and immersive world-building.

A group of four fantasy explorers stands before a powerful ruler seated on a jeweled throne atop steps, inside a cavern sparkling with crystalline walls. The scene blends magic and mystery as glowing energy and rich robes set a dramatic, cinematic mood, suggesting an epic quest or initiation moment in a high-fantasy world.

A richly detailed fantasy illustration showing three adventurers in a bustling medieval street, surrounded by dozens of curious cats. A young man with a glowing magical staff stands to the left, a woman crouches to pet a cat in the center, and a regal woman in a blue gown stands to the right, all framed by gothic buildings and a glowing central shrine in the background. The warm, cinematic lighting and intricate costumes create a magical, storybook mood perfect for RPG or fantasy artwork.

I had the Source book "The Dreamlands" ror Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu RPG along with many other source books, campaign & scenarios books. They are stored in my house in the village, now. Haven't played for years rpgs. My friends all stopped doing so. Indeed, Lovecraft says that different world (with inteligent beings on them obviously, have their own Dreamlands, created by their own dreams

I more kind of read the description in the RPG rule books for Cthulhu myth for DnD and DSA ... but they messed up ... I think in the dream quest of unknown kadath (which I did read 😁), Lovecraft himself wrote, that different worlds have probably different dreamlands, but in the Rulebooks for DnD and DSA they have just used the default Earth Dreamlands ... a bit lazy, I think.

well, maybe not. I just had a coffee with a fairy and ended in another world. That was a bit excessive, don't you think? Still she seemed nice up until I was no longer in Seattle.

Well, let's stay in the lovely nice (and totally not nightmarish) lands and I will be very happy. I am not as curious as Alice who definitely has a dark side.

Well done, my friend ... I think I don't know all the places in the dreamlands, because I have not read all the stories about the dreamlands.
