Street soul, concrete muse So close to a personal goal of 2 in a row! I dropped from 1795 to 1769 in the last 30 minutes 🥺

Actually, top 3 were nearly identical. I told my husband when mine started to do well that I bet mine and the two I saw close to it finished top 3 and they did. If I recall correctly, I believe three close portraits were top in desert challenge (with almost no desert in sight). The voters have a type lol

Exactly, and more of these plus another common composition. I wnder how prompts are created that they so often end up so similar. As I expected mine maybe pushed too far away from that so was not what people wanted to see. And now I don't care - really

Thank you! You did well. I love your art style, a little painterly, a touch of not quite grunge with the tans and blues but lighter so it adds a little grit but kept a lightness to it that I like. Hard for me to describe actually.

DavidP

I can appreciate that. I've now cooked it all up so that I am not fussed by the scoring at all, will celebrate top 10s, and not be too driven to try and create something that is a candidate.

Sealine

Thank you! Appreciate the thoughtful feedback. I just posted the nearly identical one I tried to swap for but was 4 minutes too late. I liked it a little better.

Congrats, like the viewpoint and colour scheme. Though as you said, I saw so many in this vein. Glad you were the lucky one

Thank you! Was a little bummed I dropped from 1795 at the end but happy with 2nd. Saw you made top 10! Congrats to you as well!

I go back and forth with caring and not caring. Think it depends how much I like my entry. This one was a surprise for me.

CaylaCatz

this did well tho. Who knows how the other would go. Appreciation is such a subjective thing.

This is fantastic. Congratulations on second place. I got to vote on this 3 times. I love it! 😍
