Very cool! I like that transition from model to portrait although I want to flip the image. I feel like it reads like a Japanese manga right to left. Due to my habit of reading left to right, I read images left to right. So the gaze of the portrait going left meets my eyes right away so my eyes stop there. It takes me out of the image right away. I feel like I have to read this like a Japanese manga and start on the right side so the model's gaze leads to the painting which flows into the portrait which gazes at me.

I can't take credit for that. My college photography brought that up when we were being critiqued. The idea was you wanted to pull people into the photograph and not push them out unconsciously. He was a pretty good professor

This is a lovely piece, David. Would you please update your QT list? I'm no longer on it. I couldn't handle all the notifications I was getting.

Now I see what you mean. I never thought of that.

A tricky achievement. Bravo, David!

And if I really stepped back and took just a little more time to critique my own image I might have picked up on it as well, just from my dabblings in photography. Do love the idea of studying things like photography as part of a tertiary qualification. A degree like I did was much more focused in the faculty offering it, in my case science. And we were forced to take at least one course in mathematics, and my degree imposed the second years on top of that.
