QT: 57 Chevy https://budgetpixel.com/p/23744 My spin: my mind must have been in 'song association mode' when I viewed this QT. The Bok van Blerk song came to mind. he's a local Afrikaans artist whose most famous song is a celebration of an Afrikaans Boer general, De la Rey. When published in 2006 received mixed reaction as you can imagine. On the same album is his Chevy song, albeit a '68. It's cheesy rock n roll. Aside from those two, my favourite songs off the album are 'Jy Praat Nog Steeds My Taal' and 'So Waai Die Wind' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTJvEO9LdQw **'68 Chevy (Minki)** Sy ry 'n 1968 Chevy Sy sê daar's soveel om te sien Soos sy weg trek voel my hart Heavy Maar ek kon niks sê dat sy bly Al my vriende sê vir my Buddy 'n One night stand is mos nie trou Want girls so mooi soos sy gaan nooit Steady En girls soos sy weet nie van bly Toe sê my Is jy nog steeds so lief vir my Minki Soos daal aand op die plaas, ons het so geraas Jy't gesê jy wil bly, want jy's klaar gery Maar nou is jy so vêr van my Minki En ek wag by die draai, waar die stofpad waai Want ek's 'n man wat by jou kan staan En elke aand dink ek aan jou Minki Dink watter ou voel aan jou lyf En al my pêlle sê ek's mal Crazy Maar ek weet jy dink ook aan my Toe sê my Is jy nog steeds so lief vir my Minki Soos daal aand op die plaas, ons het so geraas Jy't gesê jy wil bly, want jy's klaar gery Maar nou is jy so vêr van my Minki En ek wag by die draai, waar die stofpad waai Want ek's 'n man wat by jou kan staan En hoe vêr gaan jy met daai ou Chevy En hoeveel moet jou hart nog sien En soos die paaie rol en draai Minki Onthou daar êrens kan jy bly Toe sê my Is jy nog steeds so lief vir my Minki Soos daal aand op die plaas, ons het so geraas Jy't gesê jy wil bly, want jy's klaar gery Maar nou is jy so vêr van my Minki En ek wag by die draai, waar die stofpad waai Want ek's 'n man wat by jou kan staan En ek wag by die draai, waar die stofpad waai Want ek's 'n man wat by jou kan staan

About this image
A bold, colorful mural-style painting features a red 1968 Chevy convertible parked by a sunny seaside cafe, with friends in denim jackets and palm trees in the background. The scene exudes mid-century nostalgia and pop art energy, using bright blues, yellows, and reds to create a lively coastal vibe that appeals to fans of vintage car art and retro Americana.
A vibrant retro scene featuring a teal 1968 convertible cruising along a sunny beach road at golden hour. A stylish woman in a red polka-dot dress with heart-shaped sunglasses sits in the back, while four friends lounge beside the car near a palm-lined coastline and a “Buddy’s” sign, creating a classic road-trip vibe. The artwork blends vintage Americana with warm, saturated colors for a lively, nostalgic mood and coastal setting.
A stylish woman wearing sunglasses sits behind the wheel of a classic turquoise car as the sun sets over a desert highway lined with tall cacti. The image combines retro automotive charm with warm, cinematic colors and a carefree road-trip mood, ideal for content about vintage cars, travel, and Americana.

tvm. It's a fun song but there are two better on the same album IMHO --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8iUwnSEUT8 --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL6vLPdvqe0 --- maybe harder to appreciate without understanding the language as I do

Thanks. And maybe you'd enjoy the song. If only for another slice of my local musical vibes. You'll see links to my favourite to songs on the album in my reply toarcchangeltara just below this reply.
