https://budgetpixel.com/blog/fairytalefolklore-imagevideosong-challenge-march-20-26-2026 Sunday: Japan: Kojiki – Luring the Sun Goddess Out of the Cave This piece is based on the Japanese creation myth from the Kojiki, where Amaterasu, the sun goddess, hides herself inside a cave after being upset by her brother Susanoo. With the sun gone, the world falls into darkness, so the other gods gather in front of the sealed heavenly rock cave. They play drums and flutes, dance like at a wild festival, and laugh loudly to make Amaterasu curious enough to look outside. In my image, the foreground focuses on the noisy, joyful chaos of the gods’ celebration, while the glowing silhouette in the cave entrance hints at Amaterasu beginning to peek out, just before light returns to the world.

This is so fun! I love that you made the song about Amaterasu. That's one of my favorite myths. Amaterasu is sulking in her cave (justifiably so as her brother's a terror). The earth has no sun. Then laughter. She can't resist a peek when she hears their laughter. I think that's a great way to chase away the darkness with laughter, dance and music.
