The Exclusion Zone: Pripyat: The Carousel
About this image
A moody, abandoned amusement park scene featuring a rusting carousel surrounded by overgrown vegetation, with a ghostly Ferris wheel in the background. The reflective puddles and dark clouds create a haunting, post-apocalyptic atmosphere perfect for eerie photography and urban exploration themes.

That makes sense but also why I didn't see those images back then. I was moving back to the USA and finding a job and an apartment. I didn't even have a TV for a very long time. But I was living in the San Francisco bay area so there were art galleries and alots of places to visit for free. I blogged and did photoshop but I spent much more time out with my camera so wasn't online or watching TV. I probably missed a lot during that time.
Yeah when I made this video of a song I made with my lyrics, I was inspired a region in Second Life. When I shared it on Flickr, someone said it looks like Pripyat so I looked it up. and I found it really did. Sad story that they never opened because of Pripyat. If you're interested, this is my song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itk_C4ZioCs
Thank you! I was very inspired when I saw the abandoned amusment park in Second Life. That's when the line "a memory of dreams left to rust" popped into my head and I knew I wanted to do a ghost ballerina. After I learned about Pripyat, the girl with the gas mask standing in the middle made a lot more sense.
very cool! I did a video with a song of mine and someone said the background looked a lot like Pripyat. That was the first I heard of it. Kind of sad it never got the chance to open before Cherynobl hit

We are bombarde with a huge volume of info (more with everyday)we can't see it all, we can't absorb it all, and often we can't know where a "meme" has its origins

Well, Cayla, I'm also current only on cetrain aspects of PC. Most of them, I don't want to have anything to do with them
@panos ·
Thank you! Yes, especially the Pripyat Ferris Wheel has become on of the most iconic symbols of that horrible disaster.
This is true. Also I never know when a meme has it's origin as I'm really not up on current pop culture
