Boys playing soccer on a flooded muddy field during heavy rain

About this image

This evocative vintage black and white photograph captures an early 20th century casual football match played on a waterlogged, muddy village pitch in steady rain. Young players in period wool clothing and caps compete for the ball, while rows of formally dressed local spectators watch from the background near wooden village buildings. The mood is warm and nostalgic, with visible rain streaks and puddle reflections adding dramatic atmospheric detail to the historic scene.
