Stargate SG-1 team stands armed

In 2001, I was introduced to a science-fiction series that would become my all-time favorite: *Stargate SG-1*. The series featured an unforgettable team: the witty but emotionally wounded Colonel Jack O’Neill, the brilliant and resourceful Major Samantha Carter, the endlessly curious Dr. Daniel Jackson, and the stoic Jaffa warrior Teal’c. Together, they explored distant worlds, encountered extraordinary civilizations, and fought to liberate people from the Goa’uld—parasitic aliens who posed as the gods of most of Earth's ancient mythologies. My introduction was “Window of Opportunity,” a hilarious time-loop episode reminiscent of *Groundhog Day*. I was immediately hooked! Since the show aired past my bedtime, my parents recorded episodes for me. Later, I borrowed DVDs of the earlier seasons from the library (but not the first episode) to catch up on the adventures I had missed. But *Stargate SG-1* became much more than entertainment to me. Beneath the action, humor, and science fiction were stories of friendship, courage, sacrifice, redemption, and hope. Its characters felt like old friends, and its universe became a place I loved returning to. Twenty-five years later, that love hasn't faded. *Stargate* continues to inspire my imagination, including my own adventures set within its remarkable universe. And whenever I hear those familiar opening notes of the theme music, I still feel that same excitement I experienced back in 2001. **For me, the Stargate has never truly closed.**
