Entry in the Storytelling #03 theme on BudgetPixel.

Tea with Alice and the Cheshire Cat Special Guests: Bisclavret, the King and Marie de France Bisclavret is a 12th-century medieval poem about a noble knight cursed to transform into a wolf three days a week, who retains his human intelligence and loyalty. When his unfaithful wife steals his clothes to trap him permanently in wolf form, he encounters the King and becomes the King's beloved, loyal animal companion and protector. Marie de France was a highly educated, pioneering 12th-century French noblewoman living in England who became the earliest known French woman poet, famous for rewriting Celtic legends into influential romantic poems. Despite her massive impact on the history of storytelling, her true identity remains one of literature’s greatest mysteries. er brilliant imagery and psychological insight deeply influenced writers like Geoffrey Chaucer and Dante Alighieri.

yeah, the woman there is the authoress. She wrote a lot. Her works survived but no one knows who she is.They think she was a french woman living in England because she signed her works Marie de France (Marie of France) . No reason to say "of France" if you are living in France; and also no reason to say it if you are a Brit living in England. She's a mystery

CaylaCatz

That's true. Women either. But also people can do untoward things when they are scared. I don't think the wife was evil. I think she just wanted other people to know he turns into a wolf and understand her predicament so she could leave him without scandal. It didn't work out that way tho. She and her knight were banished by the King.

Thank you! Can you believe his story was written in the 12th century? I was surprised that not only did they have a werewolf although he did change a mire more often but also that he was a good guy

Very very nice, even if the bubbles are a bit intrusive (which is inevitable when they are generated by AI)! As for the content, it seems somewhat optimistic to me... 😎

CaylaCatz

Rutger Hauer? I figure you liked him in the cyberpunk movie. Michelle Pfeiffer as the 2nd? Could be Broderick but in this movie I think it's the other two.

The moral: Monsters aren't always as bad as they are painted, and men aren't always as good as they pretend to be! 😎

CaylaCatz

Thank you! actually I was surprised there was an early story of a good werewolf guy. Especially as early as the 12th century.

Marvelous! And the wolfman is so well-behaved. (That srory reminded me a bit of 'Ladyhawke' Have you seen it?

CaylaCatz
