If you've ever driven I80 through Wyoming, you've likely seen this scene... especially for a lengthy stretch near Green River!

About this image

A yellow diesel locomotive leads a long line of freight cars across arid desert plains, kicking up dust as a plume of smoke rises behind. The cinematic scene highlights a Western railway vibe, with rugged scrub, expansive skies, and distant mesas, making it ideal for keywords like freight train photography, desert railways, and cargo train imagery.

I've driven that stretch of I80 at least 100 times over the years. Always trains to see; either moving or parked due to a track/weather issue down the line. Took time a couple of trips to do some actual photography, but those pics have long since faded from all but my memory. This is way easier LOL

Such vast open space, must be amazing. We have The Karoo but can't match the enormity. AI now so much better at creating trains.
