Two boney blooms half price other world botanicals — witches' happy place © 2026 I've always loved the goblin night market scenes in urban fantasy novels. At the night market, for the right price you can buy any spell ingredient no matter how obscure, any magical artifact no matter how esoteric but you need to know what you're shopping for and how to bargain with the fae. Bargaining is a high risk sport with the fae. And do not be fooled by kind pretty faces. They have rules they play by and they are sticklers for them. Plus humans are seen as collectibles. Rule 1. Don't say "thank you" whatever you do. A simple "thank you" can have you owing a favor you will not want to pay. Rule 2. Don't accept freebies. Give them something in exchange. A coin will do, a pen, a stone. Anything. Goes back to the idea that you don't want to be owing favors. The fae are worse than the mafia when it comes to collecting favors. If you are careful and smart about it, there are wonderful bargains to be had at the night market. Oh geez, don't stand next to that boney bloom. It bites. What a newbie! Did you just tell me "thank you"??? What did I tell you about saying "thank you"!?? Stop being so polite. Midwestern politeness won't serve you well here. Go for a New Yorker attitude. Or a brusque Chicagoan. Yeah, that's right. You might just survive your night's shopping expedition. Gah, you just said "thank you" again! The 2 dark ones (#1 & #3) is Muse; the 2 light ones (#2 & #4) are GPT 2.5 Sunburst. Seems fitting that Sunburst likes to come out brighter. I also did this one for the challenge. https://budgetpixel.com/p/86494

Here. Passes you a boney blossom that has been trying to nip my fingertips. Take this. It'll take your mind off of that memory. It's a little too hungry for me. Don't they train these things not to bite customers? Geez.

Rule 3: don't deal with Fae. Ever. Trust me. i'm a wizard. (Some times they ask for magical creatures posteriors. True Story )
