Given that the reference image was a grand and massive library onboard a ship-like interior, I reckon many would go with that direction and want to go with something different. I chose a quieter, one-woman library where she took a boatload of books, rowed out to the open sea and enjoyed her reading in the calmness of nature. Placed 15 out of 50 entries. A result I am happy with.

About this image

This evocative fantasy illustration depicts a quiet woman in a flowing vintage dress reading an open book, seated in a weathered wooden rowboat overflowing with old leather books, lit by warm glowing candle lanterns as it drifts on dark rolling ocean waves. The scene is set at dramatic golden hour sunset, with heavy moody storm clouds framing a low sun that casts a shimmering golden reflection across the sea. The serene, whimsical mood leans into themes of literary escape, wanderlust, and the magical power of storytelling.
