Close-up painterly portrait of a woman with smudged dark eye makeup

About this image

This haunting, textured figurative oil painting features a tight close-up portrait of a pale woman with striking teal eyes, smudged running black eye makeup, and rich crimson lips. Bold, impasto orange brush strokes streak across the right side of her face, creating a dramatic contrast against the deep inky black shadows that fill most of the background. The brooding, atmospheric piece leans into dark romantic, grunge art aesthetics, conveying raw, melancholic emotion through dramatic lighting and expressive painterly texture.
