20th out of 64 entries. I had no expectations with this one and found my entry boring. However, sharing this to illustrate how volatile voting is: Final stats: 1527 ELO 104 matchups 48W/52L Earlier today: 1598 ELO 60 matchups 36W/22L

Entry in the Arctic War Mech challenge.

About this image

This dramatic sci-fi concept artwork features a massive, weathered heavy battle mech marked with unit number 07, standing in a falling snowstorm at a frozen arctic military outpost as golden sunset light spills over snow-capped mountain peaks. The dark metallic mech is outfitted with shoulder missile pods and a glowing arm cannon, accented with bright blue LED lights, flanked by tiny soldier figures, tactical trucks, and outpost infrastructure in the icy, reflective foreground. The tense, atmospheric scene contrasts warm orange and purple storm clouds against cool wintry blues, highlighting the scale and imposing power of the futuristic war machine.

I think it may be harder than people think to come up with the challenge themes. I also struggled for an idea to make an image that was on theme and interesting. And of course what I came up with was not popular though I liked it --- thanks for sharing the scoring details. Amplifies my observation as to how much luck is involved in getting a good score.

I didn't think it was boring! I strongly feel like there is an issue with the voting and ELO.

cool! Ouch! you were really ahead earlier.

Yes, I agree. Your luck in random matchups matter as does when you get your votes. I've noticed some patterns in voting too. There was very little variety in voting for the dog. I expect to see mainly unicorn dogs with rainbow fur in top 10 as it seems most people copied challenge description and prompted that. I also saw two nearly identical slightly different images which I assume were ChatGPT suggested prompts. To be fair, themes lately are very specific.

Thank you! Honestly, I would have been mad if I finished in top 3. I don't think my entry deserved that. I saw a lot of great action shots which I didn't even think to do. Although, there were a several very boring images that made top 10 too.
