Entry in the Desert Stargazer challenge.

About this image

This atmospheric landscape shot captures an amateur astronomer kneeling on cracked, arid desert terrain, adjusting a vintage brass tripod telescope beneath a stunning vivid Milky Way night sky bursting with pink, purple, and deep blue nebula clouds. A printed star chart lit by a small red lamp sits beside the observer, with a distant flat-topped mesa visible on the horizon under the glittering, unpolluted dark sky. The quiet, awe-inspired mood highlights remote dark-sky stargazing, astrophotography, and celestial observation in a remote wilderness location.
