  Thanks. I try on the composition- have her walking into the water. - a lot depends on where you are surfing. For example if surfing in mid-summer in Cape Town on the Atlantic ocean side, it can be a beautiful hot summer's day and the water is properly chilly, like 10-12C. So you can swim briefly but to spend hours in the water you need a wetsuit to stay warm

  As a former East Coast surfer might I suggest the model at least be wearing gloves. I realize that a hoodie would ruin the aesthetic of the art work but if it really was freezing cold she'd be wearing neoprene gloves with her suit.

  the impasto isn't as strong in this one but it's a cool painterly style too. i didn't realize people also surf in cold water as I thought it was a summer sport. I learned something new with your cool haiku. I didn't say this in the previous one but I really like the proportions in both images, the figures offset from center and taking about 1/3 of the space with the sea and sky filling the rest. Cool pics.

  Thanks. This was one of those exercies were many were generated to have a few keepers. I liked the skegs, leash and wetsuit on this one
