Not more than a couple of days into the new month, Kate was surprised to find Angus waiting patiently outside the castle barracks when she first set off on her morning walk to meet Calista at the university library. She greeted him with enthusiasm, exclaiming, “Good morning Angus, what brings you to my doorstep today–such as it is, sugah?” “I wonder if I might talk with ye for a spell, lassie about affairs of the heart?” he said, his thick Scottish baritone carrying a mixture of sheepish vulnerability and rough gruffness. “Well, Angus,” Kate replied with a reassuring smile, stepping onto the sidewalk. “I don’t know that I’m an expert on the subject, but I will certainly do whatever I can to give you good, honest advice. If you don’t mind, though... may we please walk and talk at the same time? I have to meet Calista at the library, and keeping our bodies in motion is the best way to keep this winter chill away. Surely you should know a thing or two about the draftiness of a skirt, given the kilted nature of your ceremonial dress uniform.”

About this image
This nostalgic period scene depicts a WWII-era military couple strolling hand in hand along a cobblestone historic Scottish city street, lined with old stone storefronts and a distant clock tower visible on the skyline. Both figures wear tailored olive brown dress military uniforms complete with rank chevrons, medal ribbons, and period headwear, while the male service member wears a traditional dark green tartan kilt and leather sporran. The warm, muted color palette and retro 1940s styling create a soft romantic wartime homecoming mood, rendered in a hyperrealistic, lifelike art style.

Thank you for empathizing. It's not even about the attractive or not attractive thing. It's not even about the equipment. It's more about the... aura I guess is the best word I can think of. I mean you've read some of my intimate writing, so you know how I'm using words like tender, gentle, delicate, and soft and I'm always putting a good bit of emotion built around adoration and devotion in it. Well I've never known a guy that has any of that. I've even dated a trans woman in the past and it still had all of those aspects that I find lacking in men. Plus women (trans or cis) just do it for me. Feminine energy (yeah that's the word I was looking for a minute ago) just completely does it for me and masculine doesn't.

Sorry about the day. At least it's Friday (unless of course you have one of those jobs where you work on the weekend, in which case I'm sorry for that too). To be perfectly honest I couldn't imagine coming out while my grandmother was still alive and by the time she passed away I was in a LTR and I absolutely hate hurting people so I couldn't find a way out for several years. In the end the relationship failed and I told myself I had to choose me (I just wish I had remembered that before I met my toxic narc GF, but getting older makes you desperate to find your soulmate).
Oh yes, I remember that conversation, and I totally agree with you--men are much more rough (even when they're trying to be gentle), and if you don't like that, no wonder it's hard to be with one. I guess I can appreciate both masculine and feminine traits but, having seen love from both sides now (Joni Mitchell reference although she wasn't talking about bisexuality haha), I have to say I fall closer to you. In any case, it's good that you finally bucked society's expectations and became true to yourself! Alas, it's 1 AM here, so I will bid you goodnight for now. Bonne nuit!

Totally get how somebody can be attracted to both. Nothing wrong with that. I try very hard to be accepting of all viewpoints (having been blasted by some in the lesbian community for dating trans in the past). And no I definitely do not like rough nor am I overly into sub/dom stuff IRL (fantasy is different). Yes I deeply regret waiting so long to come out of the closet and wasting my 20s and early 30s trying to be what other people expected me to be. Sleep well, hope y'all have a good evening and pleasant dreams. Bonsoir mes cherie.
Oh, I understand now! And I'm sorry you felt the need to conform to society's expectations. Gael also dated guys when she was younger even though she's not attracted to them at all. I just thought you were more like me (I find both genders attractive, meaning I wasn't dating guys because it was expected of me but because I actually liked them), but in fact you're more like Gael. And I'm very sorry you had to spend time with guys--in bed even!--if you don't find them attractive. Eek! 😥

Good question. I have no idea. I didn't ask for it Qwen Image just decided to give it to her. The previous attempt had a bomb sitting right int he middle of the street. Apparently 1943 Edinburgh just has to have a bomb in it the photo somewhere.

It's OK, it's not TMI. What I said was I'm not a gold star lesbian. In an abstract celebrity fantasy kind of way I can still kind of understand the appeal for some. But IRL, men just are not sexually appealing to me.
Ugh today has been crazy at work. But hey, I totally understand how hard it is to go against societal expectations: I was almost 30 when I finally tried dating a woman. It's hard being in the minority!
Aww, I thought you were of a similar disposition, no? (Didn't you say you were with a man when you were younger? But if that's TMI, feel free to ignore this comment haha.)

Thanks. I mean they aren't accurate but at least they convey the feel I was going for. You take your victories where you can get them sometimes.
