**City streets and skyscrapers or wildernes mountains and forest** --- Parallel Lives - 14/73, 1551 ELO, 112 matchups, 60W 48L --- Tried a different approach to creating the prompt for this entry that gave more weight to the challenge description. Quite pleased with the image and reached top 20 which is a good result for me

About this image
This expressive textured impasto oil painting features a striking split portrait concept, where the same man is divided down the center between two contrasting life paths. The left half shows a rugged bearded hiker in a plaid flannel standing in a sunlit old-growth forest with a rushing river and snow-capped mountains, while the right half depicts the same man as a polished professional in a tailored suit overlooking a glowing dusk city skyline with streaking rush hour traffic. A shimmering glowing line separates the two halves, exploring themes of work-life balance, identity duality, and the contrast between quiet outdoor life and fast-paced urban career, rendered with bold painterly brushstrokes and contrasting warm golden and cool blue tones.

Yeah, how many of us would take different paths but need to earn a living dictates - should it have as much sway as it does - I don't know
@JMN ·
Wish I could take the left path, but for the life of me I just can't figure out how to make pizza out of pine cones.
very cool. I could suit escaping to the wilderness on the weekends but he'd have a 5o'clock shadow instead of a full-on beard
