Bittersweet wartime goodbye of a soldier and woman embracing

About this image

This evocative historical romance illustration accompanies Chapter 6 of *The Forgotten Love Chronicles*, depicting a tender, bittersweet wartime goodbye between a uniformed soldier and his beloved at a 1940s steam train station. Warm glowing amber sunset tones, curling locomotive steam, stacked vintage suitcases, and a period station clock set a deeply nostalgic, emotional mood as the couple leans forehead-to-forehead to share a final promise before deployment. The gilded chapter text overlay perfectly frames the long-distance wartime love story theme for historical fiction, audiobook, or period drama content.
