Yokaipunk #5 where Haiko orders sushi Futakuchi-onna (二口女): A spirit that appears to be a normal woman but conceals a terrifying secret: a second, fully functioning demon mouth on the back of her head hidden beneath her hair. The hair acts like tentacles, reaching out to grab food and feed the second mouth. One story is that a beautiful woman was married to a miserly rich man who loved that his wife ate like a bird so he did not have to spend money to feed her. But at night her ravenous hunger took over and a second mouth appeared on the back of her head and she would gorge herself. The rich man could not figure out why food was always disappearing so one night he kept watch. He sees the demon mouth and runs away. Fearful his wife will find, he spends his days wandering and dies broke and childless. After he's gone, I hope she eats as much as she likes during the day and the demon mouth disappears.

Oh this is so great!🤩 Gotta say CC, this style and the characters inspired me to make something that I hope we can work on in the future, either in tandem or as separate histories, who knows? It's nearly done, just making a few more images and laying on the final touches. Hopefully the blog will drop tomorrow✌️😁
