**Cthulhu Idol** Original topic for QTing - **Book Illustrations** --- The inspiration from this stems from a conversation with my dear friend @SkarletFever In comments on this image https://budgetpixel.com/p/48772 I asked about 'The Call of Cthulhu'. I learned it was a reference to a short story written by HP Lovecraft. @southamericanmyth let me know of his topic QT: H.P Lovecraft's works https://budgetpixel.com/p/33228 I'd never seen that post but worth a look --- I've never read any Lovecraft, but my son who is an avid read and has been collecting classic books, has an anthology of his short stories. He also knew all about Cthulhu and educated me on the nature of this existential horror. So I read this story over the weekend. The style was interesting and the story suitably horrific. Central to it is the most disturbing idol that is the subject of this post. The impression is not perfect, as per Lovecraft's description, but a reasonable artist's impression.
