Yep, that's one of the problems the brothers had to face; the other teams were jealous of how well they raced and decided to "even the odds" in the pits by wrecking their already outdated pit droid "the Tarantula".

These are aged up versions of the Chaser bros from the Matthew Riley book "Hover Car Racer". They are the best racers but the most underfunded team, so the other teams sabotaged their car, the Argonaut.
