It’s kind of insane how #1–3 (and a lot of the others too) all use basically the same type of image: a lone adventurer (or a few) standing in front of a massive relic or ancient structure, usually dwarfed by it. I love the perspective! You, among a handful of others, are one of the names I see in the top 10 more than most others. Comparatively speaking you are doing quite well. But still, I understand the frustration you feel when viewing the top and struggle with what to enter myself. Sometimes I choose not to enter at all (this theme).

That's a decision to make, I had a phase of pleasing the crowd, then a phase of doing something different. Now I participate without much worry; just come up with something basic and adjust it until I can accept it, and I fare much better. DCs are not my priorities here. Most peole take the image in the DC announcement and just make copies of it - and then vote for such images. The problem with this approach for me is that such images kind of blurr one into another. I can distinguish them.
