"Holding the family together, one life hack at a time." While conceptualising on this challenge, the term "life hacks" appears quite strongly, and I thought of how a hacker girl would apply life hacks instead of committing system hacks. The solution I eventually came to was that the hacker girl got married, started a family, and became a stay-at-home housewife, and used her hacking skills to manage the household instead. The main challenge I had was how to present the duality of the girl as both a hacker and a housewife cohesively, as both identities were distintively different. I tried to apply hacker gadgets on the head with a housewife outfit, but they don't seem to gel well. In the end, I decided that she should still look more like a hacker, so I gave her a simple jacket with a hoodie and just layered it with a simple apron. The effect of different screens swirling around her head was a little off and did not have the variety of screens I had in mind as well. It could have been further tweaked to get a better presentation. Given that I did not have more time to fine tune both the look and effect, plus it was a little far-fetched to link a hacker girl to motherhood, I was prepared for it to rank 40 and lower. The eventual result of being ranked 31 out of 62 was something better and I will take it as a win.
